Shopify: when a real store beats a link in bio
A link in bio that points at someone else's shop is the quickest way to start selling. A store of your own starts to make sense when you want your own checkout, your own customer list and a storefront that does not change when a marketplace changes its rules.
Shopify is the hosted option for that step. It runs the storefront, the checkout and the order emails; you add the products, the shipping rules, the payment settings and, if you want one, your own domain. There are no servers to look after, but there is a monthly plan plus payment processing fees, so a store pays off once you have something to sell and a steady way to bring people to it.
Before you start, settle three things: what you will sell and who ships it, whether you need a full store or only a buy button on a page you already have, and which plan fits your country and payment setup. Shopify's own pricing page lists the current plans and trial terms. They change, so we do not repeat them here.
This page is a guide, not a review: we have not set up a store to write it. If a store fits what you sell, the button opens Shopify through our referral link.
